A new Half-Life Fan Film is in the works, and it looks promising.
Last week we saw the release of a teaser trailer for a live action fan film, ‘Left 4 Dead – The Movie‘.
Initially created by a small filmmaking company known as Mexican Standoff in 2009, the production has been underway for over five years and is almost coming to completion.
We caught up with the film’s director, Daniele Bellucci to ask him some questions about the movie.
In November 2009, a small filmmaking production studio called Mexican Standoff started working on a non-profit fan film based on Valve’s hit zombie shooter Left 4 Dead.
A trailer for the upcoming film, simply entitled ‘Left 4 Dead – The Movie‘ was just uploaded to YouTube and has already gained some traction, check it out:
Upcoming live action Half-Life fan film series “The Freeman Chronicles” just published a blog post teasing new production media after a long period of silence.

The team behind the upcoming live action fan film series “Half-Life: The Downfall of Evolution” have launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign that seeks to raise $20,000 before the 30th October.
We previously covered the announcement of a new Half-Life fan film called “Lambda” a few weeks ago however the director Connor Botts just put up the official trailer, which looks pretty epic.
The story is set just prior to the events of Half-Life 2 and follows a character known as Dominic Ryan, a resistance fighter who teams up with Barney Calhoun and Alyx Vance from Half-Life 2 in an attempt to rebel the Combine forces currently dominating the Earth.
If you want to find out more information about Lambda you can read our original announcement article which contains exclusive information about the film, there is also a Combine Overwiki page for it too!
You can also follow the film’s Twitter and Facebook page for future updates.
Half-Life: The Downfall of Evolution is an upcoming Half-Life live action fan film series.
We previously covered the same project in October last year when it was going under the name ‘Lambda Protocol’ with a slightly different team. It’s not quite clear what happened to the original crew or why the name changed apart from the mention of a copyright issue involving Machinima Prime.
Despite the branding changes, the movie still looks as visually epic as ever, check out the new teaser:
A new live action Half-Life fan film is in the works.
‘Lambda’ by Dark Pulse Productions follows the story of a character known as Dominic Ryan, a resistance fighter who teams up with Barney Calhoun and Alyx Vance from Half-Life 2 in an attempt to rebel the Combine forces currently dominating the earth. The story itself is supposedly set a few days prior to the events of the game when Gordon Freeman is still in stasis, although it will also tie into the events beyond Gordon’s awakening from Point Insertion, up to The Uprising.
Today we’re going to take a look back at some of the best, most iconic pieces of film and multimedia inspired by the Half-Life universe. As you may imagine, there has been an amazing amount of fan-created productions over the years. As much as we’d love to cover everything, we could not pack anything near the amount of stuff that exists into a single article (and we would probably burn out all of the content we have been wanting to share in this section for years ahead!). There are probably a lot of things that have been sadly lost or forgotten online too. Anyhow, here is a list of a few of the memorable fan-produced films, machinimas, series and other multimedia created since Half-Life’s release in 1998. Enjoy!
