It’s been a long time… In more ways that one.

The developers behind the popular multiplayer Half-Life mod Sven Co-op just put out an update trailer, showing off the long awaited 5.0 update. Check it out below:

The good people of Crowbar Collective have given us at LambdaGeneration an exclusive in-depth look at Black Mesa’s first new major multiplayer update since the game’s stand-alone release on Steam, codenamed the Crossfire Update.

While this isn’t the big Xen update we’ve been craving for, the Crowbar Collective have been teasing a content update to the game that will hopefully keep us busy while we wait to close the rift between Earth and the Alien Homeworld.

The third entirely-community-created update has hit Team Fortress 2!

This has been an exciting week for Team Fortress 2! First the Gun Mettle Update launched on July 2nd, bringing with it a whole new classification of weapon cosmetics, more bugfixes than the rest of 2015 combined, and an entire contract system that is definitely laying the groundwork for the reported upcoming competitive matchmaking system. Now, we’ve got a number of clues that point to a possible alien invasion update coming.

A little over four years ago, we wrote an article to announce that version 2.0 of a little community-made ‘mod’ going by the name ‘Half Life 2: Update‘ had been released in response to Valve’s infamous 2010 Mac update that brought a weak implementation of HDR (High Dynamic Range) to Half Life 2 and an insane number of crippling bugs.

Half Life 2: Update fixed many of those bugs – unofficially – and enhanced many of the HDR effects in the vanilla game and just today, the lead developer Filip Victor has announced that the third and final iteration will be released for free on Steam this Friday, March 27th.

The classic Counter-Strike map Train (de_train) is back, with some new features to boot.
