Back in March, word got out that Valve had hired renowned game designer Doug Church. We don’t know what he’s working on, but what we do know is that Valve continues to attract some of the industry’s greatest veterans. And now, this seems to have been made even more evident. Read on to find out why!
Game Composer Jason Hayes Now Working At Valve
News & Rumors
Destructoid has stated that composer Jason Hayes has moved to Valve. You might know him as the award-winning musician behind StarCraft, Diablo II, Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft. He joined Carbine Studios a while ago, but now, he’s joined Valve, and is currently working on Dota 2.
You might think you’ve never heard his work, but think again! The official Dota 2 trailer’s soundtrack was composed by him, along with Tim Larkin, one of Valve’s sound designers.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that was his work we heard in the CS:GO trailer too – it had his signature “epic, orchestral style” to it, as Destructoid put it. Of course, I still believe that Zak Belica and Chris Jensen are the only two people I would trust with making a Counter-Strike soundtrack. Still, I’m very excited to hear about this, and I hope Jason helps make Valve’s music even better than it already is.
