Valve to Show off New Hardware at the 2015 Game Developers Conference

News & Rumors Valve

With Steam’s 125 million active accounts, it shouldn’t be that much of a surprise that Valve is interested in the physical realm of hardware.

Valve to Show off New Hardware at the 2015 Game Developers Conference

At the 2015 Game Developers Conference (GDC) running from the 2nd to 6th of March, Valve will be showing off their new front with regards to the hardware space. This includes the final iteration of the Steam Controller as well as new living room oriented devices and also to an unseen SteamVR hardware system, which if you happen to be a developer or publisher you can request a demo of by visiting this link.

GDC 2015 is also marks the 13th year since Valve made their announcement of Steam. The platform has grown quite substantially and is now leading in the online sale of PC, Mac and Linux games with 4500 games available on the Steam Store and over 400 million user-generated content downloads to go with that on the Steam Workshop.

Within the past year Steam has also been expanding into new areas by adding features such as In-Home Streaming, Broadcasting, Steam Music and curated storefronts. It seems that what we are about to see at GDC 2015 is going to be a further progression of that too.

What are you looking forward to seeing from Valve at the conference? Tell us in the comments below.
