The Full Portal 2 Post-Mortem From GDC 2012, On YouTube

News & Rumors Other

At long last, the ratio is prosperous – IGN has posted up the full Portal 2 post-mortem talk: “Creating a Sequel to a Game That Doesn’t Need One“, presented at GDC 2012 by Valve writers (formerly Old Man Murray writers as well) Chet Faliszek, and Erik Wolpaw. While the cameraman wasn’t doing his job very well (he forgets he’s supposed to point the camera at the screen a couple times), it contains the full presentation. Check it out after the jump.

Highlights include: the original intro for “F-STOP Portal 2”; the original test intro animatic for the actual Portal 2; an early rendition of an encounter with the scrapped “Paranoid” Sphere (with early voice work by Richard Lord); a very early prototype for what was to be Portal 2’s original ending; and a hilarious reaction from Chet and Erik regarding a possible Portal 3. There’s way more, so do check out the full presentation.
