Very Early Blue Shift Trailer

This trailer, created as a teaser for the Dreamcast port of HL1, which would have featured Blue Shift as a small side mission, is very interesting.
Note the lack of any HD (or Medium Definition, as the Dreamcast models are called) models, the yellow HUD, the flashlight weapon, and most of the footage is taken from HL1 maps. Weird. Still, the later Blue Shift trailer is directly based off it. Check it out after the jump.
The Many Faces of Half-Life: Uplink

The original Half-Life’s hype train first started rolling when an early demo of the first few chapters of the game, known as “Half-Life: Day One”, only meant for distribution with graphics cards, was leaked to the internet.
Immediately, gamers got fired up, and eventually, the game was released in November 1998.
However, there is another demo, an official one this time, not too many people remember. Released after the official game, Half-Life: Uplink is an underrated demo featuring some great levels that didn’t make it in the final game.
Black Mesa Will See A 2010 Release

According to a post on the official Black Mesa Half-Life 2 mod forums, lead developer ‘natedgreat3’ claims that despite the lack of updates, the much anticipated mod will be released before 2011. Black Mesa has been in development since 2004 in an attempt to re-create the original Half-Life using Half-Life 2’s Source Engine. For those looking forward to the mod, this is great news!
Two-Thirds-Life

Two-Thirds-Life is an awesome online Flash short made as a parody to the original Half-Life. Looking at each chapter and parodying it, Two Thirds Life manages to be pretty hilarious. A 27-minute sequel which would parody HL2 was in the works until early 2010, when it was cancelled, and all that remains is a trailer and a demo chapter of “A Red Letter Day”.

Still, the original is very awesome, and the TTL2 previews are great as well. Perhaps the author, Raiki, can post the unfinished videos. Till then, enjoy this classic.
Far More Awesome Opposing Force Trailer

While I was at the end of the planet, where there are no internets, Alex thought he could make the mistake of ignoring this stunningly badass Opposing Force trailer. Not many people know about this, but the music and editing are pretty wicked. Check it out after the jump.
Opposing Force Beta Trailer

The original and maybe the only trailer made for Gearbox’s Half-Life: Opposing Force.
Half-Life: Opposing Force is one of the expansion packs for the original Half-Life. It was developed by Gearbox Software and was published by Sierra on November 1st, 1999. The story follows Adrian Shephard, a corporal from the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit that has been called to silence the Black Mesa Research Facility and clean up the mess caused by the Resonance Cascade.
The Black Mesa Research Facility

The Black Mesa Research Facility, found in Black Mesa, New Mexico, is government funded. It features a vast underground series of tunnels and tubes, inside you will find experiments and research in the deepest corners of science.
