Alright, and we’re right back in Left 4 Dead land. This week’s mutation makes me weep for being on vacation, and pray it gets an encore.
In a recent interview published by ComputerAndVideoGames.com Valve Software’s VP of Marketing Doug Lombardi stated:
“We hate to make you wait. But we have no announcements regarding Mr. Freeman or his ongoing adventures at this time”
This is unsettling news to hear almost three years after the release of Half-Life 2: Episode Two. Looking at this news from a positive perspective, Doug didn’t mention ‘Episode Three’; could this mean that the next Half-Life installment is going to be a larger adventure than previously planned?
Either way, it’s not like Valve’s secrecy is a surprise to anyone anymore…

Wow! Would you look at that, it’s been one full week since our humble site first appeared on the map. Hooray! And in this short time, we already got our first new writer! Everyone welcome Pinky to the stage! In this short time he’s already written up quite a few articles, so great job, Pinky!
Since he’s the only other writer who cares about the news here, Pinky and I share a sort of rivalry, so I will now refer to him as “New Guy”. Grrr.
Enough celebration! Every week, I have to (painfully, I might add) write up a News Roundup! (I have to put capitals and the exclamation mark, or the copyright doesn’t hold up), summing up every single news article written in the past week. Ouch. Well, let’s start.
Wow. “The Combine Interview”, at the time it was made, was one of the most amazing things I had ever seen. Very well written, awesome acting, excellent production values and cinematography, and with some great action near the end, it was simply amazing. Even with recent fanfilms such as “Escape from City 17” and “Beyond Black Mesa”, this is still very awesome, and the way it was written to reflect Tom Cruise’s leaked Scientology interview is pretty amazing. According to a post on the official Black Mesa Half-Life 2 mod forums, lead developer ‘natedgreat3’ claims that despite the lack of updates, the much anticipated mod will be released before 2011. Black Mesa has been in development since 2004 in an attempt to re-create the original Half-Life using Half-Life 2’s Source Engine. For those looking forward to the mod, this is great news!
