From a technical standpoint, Aperture Science and the Combine go together like peas in a prisoner pod. There are some startling similarities between their weapons and equipment that may point to an unseen element of the story.

News Catch-Up: Source 2 and Lego Portal Edition

If you’ve been following us on Twitter, Tumblr or Facebook, you’ve seen that a lot has happened this past week. Even if you set E3 aside there’s still things like the Summer Sale and the unveiling of Dota 2 as the first Source 2 game. Zen Studios and Valve Announce Portal Pinball

A while back Zen Studios teased that they were doing something of the pinball variety with Valve.
I thought it was going to be a hat-based F2P Pinball game built on the Source Engine, but it looks like I’m wrong because today Zen Studios announced Portal Pinball a new Portal-themed board for Pinball FX2.

It has been a while since Valve expanded the Half-Life and Portal universe. The 2015 Game Developers Conference held on March 4, 2014, however, brought the ‘Aperture Science Virtual Reality Demo‘, which was enough to get fan’s hopes up for the next potential instalment of the series.

“Gamma Energy” is a mod for Portal which revisits the troubles of Aperture Science.
Originally released in 2010 by Christopher Dollard, the mod contains almost 30 Test Chamber levels which each feature unique and intricate puzzles, complete with turrets, acid pools and lazers.
Community Spotlight: Lego Portal 2

“Lego Portal 2” is a stop motion animation created by Alex Kobbs of Kooberz Studios.
The animated video depicts various events from Portal 2 and follows Chell, ATLAS and P-body on a fan-influenced adventure through Aperture Science, leading partially into a scene from Half-Life 2 alongside Dr. Freeman and the Combine.
