What have we been up to this past week? Well, aside from a bunch of articles, I’ve been putting a lot of work into my Portal 2 review, after I briefly mentioned it in Episode #152 of Podcast 17. It’s becoming more of a critique, or analysis if you will. It should be out shortly. This is why this week’s Roundup is so small!

The Janus Syndicate is one of the oldest and the greatest machinima comedy groups around. It was formed in November of 2005, and it’s the group behind the excellent “Dr. Strangeman“, the hilarious “Counter-Strife: The Noob’s Guide to Counter-Strike” and, of course, the incredible ”Half-Life 2: Anxiety“, which won the Grand Prize of the 2008 Ivy Film Festival.
They went on an extended absence, but returned in late last year, with a number of new videos – “Unfriendly Fire“, “Hearts and Brains” and ”The Garrysmod Secret Agent“, as well as a new episode of the G-Man Squad. But they’ve just released a sort of spiritual successor to one of their most popular videos: “Counter-Strike For Kids“. Read on to check it out!
And we’re right back in the game with another roundup!

Global Offensive has been revealed, both through GTTV’s exclusive world premiere trailer, and some fresh new gameplay from IGN! All of it, after the jump.
Pretty impressive news week! We had Valve and TF’s 15th anniversaries, and the release of the long-awaited Part Two of the Escape from City 17 series. The promo for episode 418 of GameTrailers TV promises big things for Valve fans – as Geoff Keighley will be interviewing Gabe Newell at Gamescom, uncovering some new information on the Portal 2 DLC and Dota 2. But that’s not it! CS: Global Offensive will be revealed in episode 418, with a world premiere trailer, straight from Valve. Let’s hope we’ll get to see some gameplay!
Apparently it’s on “Thursday night at 1:05″. No time zones are mentioned, which makes viewing the episode more challenging and inconvenient than it should be. One of our readers, Pyth, told us that Wikipedia states that GTTV airs in Eastern Time, which means the episode should air in about 8 hours and 45 minutes. I’ll be posting about it, of course, so don’t worry.
We had some important news this week! A new Counter-Strike, Dota 2′s reveal, and another one of Gabe’s trademark vague answers, except this one was actually pretty intriguing!
We’ve been speculating about Dota 2 for nearly an entire year, with only a few leaked changelogs from the private beta to spice up speculation every so often. But at long last, Dota 2 has been revealed to the public, through an official Gamescom trailer straight from Valve, and a number of leaked screenshots and game art pieces.
