Valve co-founder and managing director Gabe Newell and business development lead Erik Johnson recently appeared on the first episode of a new internet podcast, GameSlice, hosted by video game journalist and presenter Geoff Keighley.

In the episode, recorded at GDC 2015, Gabe and Erik discuss the current state of Valve and also give an insight into the company’s future. Specific topics include virtual reality, Steam Machines and the recently announced Source 2 engine.

Gabe also went on to explaining Valve’s decision to move into the video game hardware industry space in recent times, describing it as “an extension” of Steam itself. There is also emphasis in the discussion towards Valve’s future focusing around the development and further provision of Steam as a digital distribution platform for PC Gaming as well as the motives behind Source 2.
