“The Lonely Robot” – The World’s First Portal 2 Machinima

News & Rumors Other

So soo- oh, wait, I’ve already used that.

Christ. They complain about droughts and famines and s**t, but we’re the ones who should be receiving bail-out packages. That contain lead-ins.

Though I need Gunman Chronicles 2 more badly. The lead-ins can wait. Banzure Prime does not.

“The Lonely Robot” – The World’s First Portal 2 Machinima

This is created by EDJE, who’s done some neat videos in the past. He’s also one of our readers, which makes him instantly cool in our books. “The Lonely Robot” was released on the 27th, and it may very well be Portal 2’s very first Machinima. It lasts 6 minutes, and focuses on a robot… who’s lonely. ATLAS, to be more precise.

Telling you more would spoil the video, so we’ll keep our mouths shut on what exactly happens in it. It’s quite minimalistic, with some very poignant scenes in there, although there were a few shots that seemed a bit unnecessary.

On the whole, a great effort, which will hopefully start up a long line of Portal 2 machinima. There’s a lot of potential in the game, and EDJE has done some great work with relatively minimal resources. And we swear we don’t like it just because the man likes the website.

Check it out below.

  1. Fun fact; Atlas was built before P-Body.

  3. Initiating slow clap processor.

    clap… clap…

    Good, that’s still working.

    No really, nice!
Just wondering, did you use the commentary-mode for the Singleplayer-maps on coop-shots?

  4. Wooo!

    Am I cool too?

  5. Hm, neat. Simple, but it still definitely works.

Reminds me of the TF2 machinima Ignis Solus, from Lit Fuse Films. And I mean that as a compliment. Good work.

  6. It’s full of continuity errors, lol
