There’s been a sort of mod drought in recent months.
But Precursor is looking to remedy that.
Or, if you prefer, “Half-Life: Precursor”.
Precursor allows you to re-enter the Half-Life universe, 10 months before Gordon’s return to the world. The Combine is cracking down on the Resistance, and you’re going to have to do the usual: Run, think, shoot, live. But at the same time, a mysterious force (read as the G-Man and its employers) is working towards ends unknown.
Just released, Precursor will only last you a maximum of 2 hours and a half, with a rather abrupt ending that leaves you wanting more. But trust us, it’ll be one hell of a 2 hours and a half. Quality over quantity, eh?
From its excellent level design to its intriguing story, aided by strong voice acting, Precursor is a surprising case of a modding masterpiece.
Try it out. You’ll only be losing a bit of hard drive space for what is a strong experience.
