Amateur video game filmmaking website Style-Productions.net has launched a competition offering a €300 prize pool for the winning submission.

‘The Creative Minds Editing Competition’ Announced

Style-Productions focuses on creating guides, competitions and movies about frag videos and in-game movies related to games such as Counter-Strike 1.6, Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament 2004.

The Creative Minds Editing Competition, sponsored by matrixstorm.com (who are involved with the Half-Life Advanced Effects (HLAE) project), is open to any game, however the banner suggests there is an emphasis on Team Fortress, Counter-Strike and Quake.

We’d like to stress the focus of this competition. Creativity while establishing atmosphere in your movie will earn you a huge amount of points during the judging process. –  The Creative Minds Editing Competition Judges

The competition closes on October 27th and the winner is due to be announced later in December.

You can find out more about The Creative Minds Editing Competition on Style-Productions.net if you are interested in being involved.

  1. Thanks for writing about the contest. I’d like to hint on a few things:

    – Style-Productions doesn’t create editing tools, but does create movies.

    – In the banner/logo they just picked three popular games to show this contest is for more games than one. They don’t have any focus on those three. Edit what you want and you will have the same chance of winning as everyone else.
