According to several reports, South Korea’s rating board is coming down hard on all games that have not passed through their rating system. Homebrew games, bootleg games, imported games, pirated games, but, apparently, Steam is on the chopping block as well.
The current law in South Korea states that all games must be rated by the government’s rating board. Whatever it is, if it is publically available, it must be rated.
Problem is submitting a game for a rating costs monies.
Steam is on the chopping block because they don’t use South Korea’s rating system.’
Supposedly, the South Korean rating board is looking at “alternate options”.
