Back to the News Roundups. Not as much stuff this week, but still quite a few interesting news.
A big thanks to Pinky for helping me get the feature image up!

Last week we had the Mutation Breakdown, in which Valve touched on issues and statistics with the Mutations. We also had Mutation Week 16, with Gib Fest as that week’s Mutation, the “If you don’t play a Mutation, then why?” poll, and this week’s mutation being “Iron Man”. Check the posts for more information.

Our hopes and dreams were smashed to bits yet again by Doug Lombardi, Valve’s VP of Marketing.
“We hate to make you wait. But we have no announcements regarding Mr. Freeman or his ongoing adventures at this time”
Great. Rock on 2012, folks.

And Sven Coop 4.1 has been announced, with a rough release date of late August. This August. Huzzah!

Pinky brings you some Mysterious Artwork in his article based on Orion’s Mystery Days event. While some artwork may have been posted since then, check his article for most of the pics.

VMF and Vodka’s upcoming HL2 mod “Ivan’s Secrets” looks pretty awesome, and their August media release looks great! With some concept art and a ton of screenshots, we can’t wait for the next release.

Finally, some juicy details on juicy unannounced projects.
Jon St John tweeted this last Saturday, then removed it quickly:
“Had a great time in Seattle last week recording for DotA. The guys at ValveSoftware are awesome!”
Let’s hope an announcement is coming. All this secrecy is making me feel bad.
Nostalgia Project, a site that used to show screenshots, concept art, magazine scans and other goodies from the early 1997 Half-Life, is finally back online, courtesy of the ever-awesome Phillip Marlowe! Check it out!

Two trailers for the ambitious remake of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, the first game to use Source without being developed by Valve, “Bloodlines: Revival”, have just popped up. Bloodlines: Revival is a mod that aims to port Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines to the newest Source technology, with better graphics and lesser bugs. Looks great, so far!

Pinky reports from the LambdaGeneration dirigible, currently under attack by hostile aircraft.
Dogfight is a very impressive Source mod that tries something completely different: WW1 era aerial combat. Wow. Check his blog post for gameplay and more details.

This made me laugh, I’ll admit.

We’re launching a new series of articles, named “The Resistance Bulletin”, which will run parallel with PlanetPhillip’s “The City 17 Times”. They will touch on the same articles, but in a different way, and sometimes report on completely different things. We don’t know when we’ll be releasing these, but we’ll try to do it on a regular basis.
Here is the first article: http://lambdageneration.com/posts/the-resistance-bulletin-special-report/
And, if you missed it, our forums have gone live! Look right up there, in the top-right corner and a whole new world will be opened to you!
That’s the end of this week’s Roundup, folks. See ya next week.
