E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy – Steam Addicts Interview

News & Rumors Other

Our colleagues over at Steam Addicts have interviewed Jonathan Cacherat, the project lead and artistic director of E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy (really fancy title right there). Originally conceived as a Source mod in early 2006, E.Y.E was released one month ago on Steam. So far, reception has been positive! E.Y.E. manages to deliver a great FPSRPG experience, that, in the words of Sam Beck of Steam Addicts, represents what you get “when a Soldier of Fortune subscriber passes out face first on a D&D board with Blade Runner on in the background”.

E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy – Steam Addicts Interview

I haven’t played it yet, but some of my friends recommend it, and they know their games, so I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that it is pretty awesome.  And it’s available for the low price of 20 dollars! Of course, if you’re European, you’re pretty much out of luck, because the E.Y.E. team assumes that 1 dollar equals 1 euro.

But enough of that, let’s get to the actual interview itself, which was only made possible due to a generous pigeon sacrifice to the interviewing gods. Of course, if I’d known there were interviewing gods, by now, I would have probably slaughtered 200 pigeons, 125 sheep, and 50 goats. On the mystical Easter Island. All in a massive crop circle. Which I would then set on fire. Colored flames would be involved. Then, LambdaGeneration would have exclusive video interviews with everyone.

Oops, there I go wandering off again! The interview is pretty in-depth, and it talks about the games that influenced E.Y.E., the devs’ design goals, and the development itself. If you’re interested in E.Y.E., or are still on the fence regarding your purchase, you should definitely check out the interview here. A bit lengthy, but a lengthy interview is the best kind of interview, I say.

If I do get the game, I might review it, but the guys at Steam Addicts actually have a review of their own! This should also come in handy if you’re still not quite sure about a possible purchase. I’m sure our review, whenever it comes out, will indubitably shatter any doubts you have on the game, but until then, you should check out theirs.

  1. Thanks, Vic – I’ll slip you that $50 later. Seriously, thanks for the mention.

You guys are killing it – keep up the great work – we’re big fans of yours’ too!
